About This Item

New York: Harcourt Brace & Company. Near Fine in Very Good dust jacket. 1998. 2nd Printing. Hardcover. 0151004153 . B&W Illustrations; This book is in Near Fine condition and has a Very Good dust jacket. The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition. The text pages are clean and bright. The price clipped dust jacket has some light ground-in dirt and light toning to the spine, spine joints and edges. There is a smallish spot of brown discoloration to the top edge of the rear panel. "Gorey's illustrated (and sometimes wordless) books, with their vaguely ominous air and ostensibly Victorian and Edwardian settings, have long had a cult following. [13] He made a notable impact on the world of theater with his designs for the 1977 Broadway revival of Dracula, for which he won the Tony Award for Best Costume Design and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Scenic Design. [14] In 1980, Gorey became particularly well known for his animated introduction to the PBS series Mystery! In the introduction of each Mystery! Episode, host Vincent Price would welcome viewers to "Gorey Mansion". " (from Wikipedia) .
