115 Pages (246-361). Last page has a corner crease at the bottom. Beyond this is an As New book with flawless interior pages. This issue highlights the Lincoln article by Leslie R. Henry. For fourteen years Lincoln owners were paced down the highway by this gracefully lean figurine of a leaping greyhound. The dog, which curiously never had a name given to it, was introduced as a radiator ornament in 1926. The Gorham Silver Company of Providence, Rhode Island, one of America's oldest silversmiths, was selected to submit designs of proposed radiator ornaments. Edsel Ford, whose infinite good taste made him the final arbiter of Lincoln's style and perhaps the one most responsible for all that was good about the Ford-built Lincolns, immediately selected this greyhound: It was first used on the 1927 models and continued to point the way for the Lincolns until the demise of the line in 1940. Each Lincoln mascot was silver-plated over solid bronze. Between 1933 and 1936 a less-detailed copy of the greyhound was available from the Ford Motor Company as a radiator ornament for any Ford! Today both breeds are collector's items; the Lincoln greyhound by Gorham, which cost almost fifty dollars to produce, now fetches more than twice that amount. He commissioned artist S. Colman and engraver P. Roberts to illustrate the privately-printed chronicle of his aeropleustic art and it is the cover art for this issue.
