Dustwrapper a little rubbed and edgeworn; trace of foxing. Very good condition. "This is a book about the watching and drawing of birds in action. The artist and author, Simon Calburn, works only from life and this book is essentially a record in pictures and words of his contact with the world of birds. Over one hundred of the species found in Southern Africa are illustrated, and there are birds from all the principal types of habitat."
Paintings, field sketches and field notes. HB, First Edition, 22.5x30cms, 248pp plus addenda and index. 80 colour plates. Some light spotting affecting some margins and a few plates. Slight rubbing to board edges. Dust jacket has some rubbing to folds and edges. A VG+ copy in VG+ DJ.
The jacket is rubbed, edgeworn and water damaged but has suffered little loss. A few spots of foxing on the page edges. A bit of tape residue on the endpapers. One signature. Otherwise internally clean and tightly bound. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.

Full blue cloth with gilt lettering on the spine, lightly bumped, oil stained at the bottom corner near the spine, jacke has a two inch oil stain at the bottom from the spine, clear tape reinforcement at the top of the spine, jacket price clipped. No previous owner's names, not exlibrary. Overall a GOOD book in a FAIR brodart protected dust jacket. Size: Folio - over 12" - 15" tall
