Introduction by E.S. Martin. 193 pages bound in faux white vellum with very minor discoloration to the spine area. Raised gilt image of Alice on front cover. Lettering on front cover and spine in gilt, complete and bright. Top of page block in gilt. There is a very light stain to the top of the pages near the spine. (2) Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There. First Peter Newell illustrated edition with 40 full page illustrations (all present) and a frontispiece of Peter Newell. Decorations by Robert Murray Wright. Introduction by E.S. Martin. 211 pages bound in faux white vellum with very minor discoloration to the spine area. Raised gilt image of Alice on front cover. Lettering on front cover and spine in gilt, complete and bright. Top of page block in gilt. There is a very light stain to the top of the pages near the spine. Books are tight and square with no marks. A very attractive set. Books are protected in custom cut clear mylar covers. All books are carefully wrapped and shipped in a box.

Uniform three-quarter gilt-ruled polished red calf & patterned boards, spines tooled & lettered in gilt, raised bands, floral patterned endpapers, all edges gilt; attractively bound by Sangorski & Sutcliffe. 94th and 67th Thousand respectively. A Near Fine set: Alice has benefited from some expert repair to its front joint, joints edges a bit rubbed, boards darkened along margins. A beautiful set finely bound by the famous London binders.
