The first two separate books (third year and 'Epilogue' was also published) in Clifton Reynolds series of four books about his family's life farming a small farm in Buckinghamshire during the Second World War. 'First Year' was first published in 1941, this is a fifth impression of 1943 (188pp), 'Second Year' was first published in 1943, this is a second impression of later the same year(192pp), a tribute to the books' popularity. Both have edge wear, chipping, small creased tears and some loss to tops and bottoms of jackets and spine, corners rubbed and bruised with small loss, folds slightly rubbed, some dust and time staining to back jackets, not price clipped (7s 6d), no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg+ copies for their age and poor wartime paper.Sadly almost forgotten author, soldier and sailor Clifton George Reynolds (1891â1969), took his family to live and farm, under wartime regulations, at Glory Hill Farm near Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire at the outbreak of the War. This is the sometimes hilarious tale of their adventures. Of particular interest to all 'Wartime Farm' followers.
