Cloud Atlas
by Mitchell, David
A copy that is Fine, in that it is tight, clean, and never read, Near Fine in that there are signs of page tanning, and in a solid Near Fine dust jacket. U.K. First Edition-First Printing with a full number line ending with a 1. "Cloud Atlas" is a work combining metafiction, historical fiction, contemporary fiction and science fiction, with its interconnected nested stories that takes the reader from the remote South Pacific in the 19th century to the island of Hawaii in a distant post-apocalyptic future. "Cloud Atlas" won the 2004 British Book Awards Literary Fiction Award and won the 2004 Richard & Judy Book of the Year. Additionally, "Cloud Atlas" was nominated for a multitude of other prestigious literary awards, such as the 2004 Man Booker Prize for Fiction, the Nebula Award for Best Novel, also in 2004, and the 2004 National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction in 2004. Rest assured, this collectible, signed copy is well protected in an archival Mylar cover; and will be very carefully packaged with protective material; and will be shipped in a new box. Cloud Atlas
by Mitchell, David
Comments: Tight clean copy with doodle drawing above signature.Synopsis: A reluctant voyager crossing the Pacific in 1850; a disinherited composer blagging a precarious livelihood in between-the-wars Belgium; a high-minded journalist in Governor Reagan's California; a vanity publisher fleeing his gangland creditors; a genetically modified 'dinery server' on death-row; and Zachry, a young Pacific Islander witnessing the nightfall of science and civilisation â the narrators of Cloud Atlas hear each other's echoes down the corridor of history, and their destinies are changed in ways great and small. In his captivating third novel, David Mitchell erases the boundaries of language, genre and time to offer a meditation on humanity's dangerous will to power, and where it may lead us.
