Oxford: Printed at the Theatre, 1677. Hardback. Very Good. 15" by 10". None. A very scarce and important early volume bound in decorative, paper covered boards. Edward Pococke (1604-1691) was an English Orientalist and biblical scholar. His most important works were a Lexicon heptaglotton (1669) and English commentaries on Micah (1677), Malachi (1677), Hosea (1685) and Joel (1691). Malachi or Mal'achi refers to the prophet in the Bible, the Christian Old Testament and Jewish Tanakh. A incredibly scarce work, by a significant biblical scholar of the 17th century, ideal for those with an interest in the study of religious doctrine. Hardback, with paper covered boards. Externally, a trifle rubbed, with wear to the extremities, rubbing to the boards and some slight chips to the spine. Internally, generally firmly bound, though the cords are visible in several places as you might expect from an original paper binding of this period. Pages are generally clean and bright, apart from the occasional handling mark and very minor brown spot. Very Good
