The bibliographer's copy, with his pencilled ownership. His encyclopaedic guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Includes a bonus article 'The Truth About Bond', being an abridged version of Ian Fleming's interview with Roy Newquist for 'Counterpoint'. [Spy novel] FIRST US EDITION, fifth printing (stated). Octavo (22 x 14cm), pp.299; [1], blank. Cloth-backed blue paper-covered boards, decorated in gilt to the spine, ochre top edge and endpapers, illustrated jacket priced at $4.50. Contents clean, no inscriptions, jacket is used, with some spots to spine, large chip at crown (although presentable in a paper-backed sleeve), sunned to cloth beneath at area of loss. Very good. These later printings are far less common than the first [Gilbert]. Basis for the 1969 film starring George Lazenby. Gilbert A11b (5).
