This is a UK SECOND EDITION hardcover published by The New Sydenham Society in 1859. The photos show the condition better than I can describe, however overall I am grading the book as Good condition for its age. The book has a straight spine with lightly dinged corners and softened spine ends. The boards are faded in places. The page edges are heavily toned but the interior text is clean although the blank end papers are off-white, The pages between 98 and 126 are half detached from the binding, but still firmly affixed - there's no risk of them coming out but this means the edges do poke out slightly from the rest of the text block. There is no printing history but research of comparable copies indicates this book was published in 1859, and this is also written lightly in pencil to the title page by a previous owner (you can rub this out if it irritates). The book has 235 pages and prefatory essay by Robert Ferguson, which refers to an earlier edition 30 years previous.
