1903. No Edition Remarks. 339 pages. No dust jacket. Purple cloth with gilt lettering. Contains black and white illustrated frontispiece, with other plates throughout. Pages and plates are mildly tanned and foxed, but text and images remain clear. Noticeable marking to some pages throughout; text is not obscured. Binding is firm. Pencil inscriptions to front endpapers. Boards have moderate shelf-wear, with noticeable corner bumping and some scuffing to edges. Noticeable crushing and slight splitting to spine ends. Gilt remains bright. Heavy rubbing and scuffing overall, with some noticeable marking also.

Pages are otherwise mostly clean, and unmarked.

Jacket has a small piece missing from top corner of spine ( about 1/2" x 1/2" ) and a larger piece missing from bottom.Small closed tear at bottom fore corner (1" long and 2 smaller ones on the back.
