It covers his escape from a British internment camp during the Second World War, and the interim period before the Communist Chinese People's Liberation Army began the 1950 Battle of Chamdo, when the Chinese attempted to reestablish control over Tibet. Illustrated throughout. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean apart from spotting to the fore edge and to the first and last couple of pages.
