Book unworn, faint blemishes to both covers, private bookplate on front pastedown; dj lightly worn, few tiny tears, very good condition, with price of $6.95 on front flap and five quotations on rear cover along with photo of author. Later state dj. Translated by Richard Graves. Introduction by Peter Fleming. With double-page map and 45 photographs. Signed by Harrer on the front endpaper, "with kindest regards" (to no one), and also signed in Tibetan script. Harrer was a noted Austrian mountain climber who managed to escape a British internment camp in India during World War II. An expensively produced Collector's Edition, signed by the author on a page that says, "This leather-bound edition of Seven Years in Tibet is personally signed by Heinrich Harrer / [signed] Heinrich Harrer"; translated from the German by Richard Graves. A Certificate of Authenticity as well as a "note about Seven Years in Tibet" laid in; gold decoration on the brown boards; three raised bands on the spine; gilt page edges; a tan satin page marker bound in; silk moire endpapers. The book is unmarked; slight spine slant; corners and spine ends unbumped; no dust jacket, as issued; Mylar protected.
