Limited first edition, first impression - Signed and dated by the illustrator Jim Kay who has hand-sketched multiple owls on the title page, and a dragon spanning two pages. Accompanied by a signed print of Diagon Alley. A totally unique copy. Jim Kay won the Carnegie Medal for his illustrations in Patrick Ness' Kate Grenaway Award-winning 'A monster Calls' (the only time a book has received both awards). Synopsis : Prepare to be spellbound by Jim Kay's dazzling depiction of the wizarding world and much loved characters in this full-colour illustrated hardback edition of the nation's favourite children's book - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Brimming with rich detail and humour that perfectly complements J.K. Rowling's timeless classic, Jim Kay's glorious illustrations will captivate fans and new readers alike. When a letter arrives for unhappy but ordinary Harry Potter, a decade-old secret is revealed to him that apparently he's the last to know. His parents were wizards, killed by a Dark Lord's curse when Harry was just a baby, and which he somehow survived. Leaving his unsympathetic aunt and uncle for Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry stumbles upon a sinister mystery when he finds a three-headed dog guarding a room on the third floor. Then he hears of a missing stone with astonishing powers, which could be valuable, dangerous - or both. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone; first edition, twelfth printing, paperback; inscribed by the author 'To Plymstock School, J.K. Rowling'. The signature is a very early and highly collectable example of the author's signature with the periods still present after the 'J' and the 'K'; as the author speeded up her signature, the periods were gone by mid to late 1998. Being a much-used school book, the book has lost its laminate and has creases to the covers, particularly the front cover; the spine is sunned, with small splits to the spine foot. Page 9 has a small closed edge tear and light green ink marks to the page. The remaining pages are toned, but in good condition. Inside the front cover of the book is a 'Children's Book Award Tester' sticker - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone won the award in 1998. Name in pencil to top of half-title page 'Plymstock'.

This is a 2004 variation of J.K. Rowling's signature signed in blue ballpoint pen to the half title page of a first UK edition, 33rd printing copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The book was originally offered as part of a charity auction to benefit the 'Sick Kids Friends Foundation' at the Signet Library, Edinburgh, on the 8th December 2004, and was kept by the winning bidder for over 20 years. It is accompanied by the original invitation card inviting the recipient to join the foundation at The Parish Church of St. Cuthbert, Edinburgh, on Wednesday 8th December 2004 from 18:30-20:30 for 'CAROLS FOR CHRISTMAS' followed by dinner at the Signet Library. This copy is in pristine condition with no flaws internally or externally to either the book itself or the dust jacket. It is perfect, the best copy we have ever handled, housed in a red quarter leather clamshell box with gold gilt lettering to the spine. The signature comes fully authenticated by Adam Houston 'The Harry Potter Specialist,' the world's leading expert in authenticating Jo's signature. It comes with a full authentication package including a letter of authenticity, collector card and provenance.

Publisher's pictorial wrappers, creases to covers, light shelf wear with slightly rubbed corners. Two stickers on the front cover (Smarties Book Prize Winner 1997 and Free bookmark inside). Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, 1st edition, 1st printing, with a follow-up inscription by the author on the dedication page: "To JJ (again!) JK Rowling". Rowling signed both books at the end of the event. Included is a Letter of Authenticity (LoA) from Adam Houston of The Harry Potter Specialist, the world's sole expert on J.K. Rowling's signature, as well as an interesting collector's card. Kept in custom-made slipcases.

A first edition of the Deluxe edition, published in 1999. A fine book without inscriptions. With SIGNED photograph mounted to the front pastedown. The photograph - which replicates that of the photograph of Rowling to most Harry Potter first editions - comes with a personal letter from Fiddy Henderson, Rowling's personal assistant and has been in the previous owner's possession since 2004. A superb copy and made all the more attractive with the addition of the SIGNED portrait.

The first three books in paperback form, each one inscribed by JK Rowling in 2000 to the son of the author's neighbour when she was living in Abbotsford Park, Edinburgh. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a first edition, first print. This is a title in paperback that is hard to find signed or inscribed. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is a first edition, forty-third print. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a first edition, twenty-second print. Each book is in near fine condition, with just light creases to the covers and negligible reading creases to the spines of the books. Each book in internally clean and unmarked, with no ownership name. There are no tears to any of the pages. No dogeared pages in the Chamber of Secrets or the Prisoner of Azkaban; a few consecutive pages have light top corner creases in the Philosopher's Stone, but they are not dog-eared pages. The spines of each volume are considerably sunned and have lost a lot of colour, but the covers remain bright. A rare collection of inscribed paperbacks, with an association to JK Rowling through her neighbour from the early days of the Harry Potter years. The books are accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from The Harry Potter Specialist, the only authenticator who only specialises in JK Rowling's signature and the signature of no other author or person.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, JK Rowling, signed second print paperback; Bloomsbury 1997. Inscribed on a bookplate to the title page with the words: 'To Laura who knows my aunty Marian! Hope you like the second Harry as much as the first - JK Rowling'. The signature is a 1998 signature. With Letter of Authenticity from The Harry Potter Specialist (Adam Houston), who only specialises in authenticating JK Rowling's signature. This rarely-seen style of bookplate can be found in a few other signed Harry Potter books, including a third print hardback Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone put up for auction in July 2023 at Sotheby's auction house, London. Other examples exist - this was presumably a bookplate personally used by JK Rowling circa 1997 to 1998. The book come with a letter from the original owner and recipient - photos can be supplied. Marian - referred to by the author in the bookplate - is Jo's aunt Marian Fox. Book is in very good condition, with no sunning to the spine, which has no reading crease. Book is square and firm. No tears to any of the pages and no dog-eared pages. One light crease to rear cover; a couple of light creases to front cover; slightly worn bottom corner of front cover; laminate starting to lift at the edge, but only slightly. Name and address (the original owner) partially erased to verso of cover; letters in pen to half title page; letters to final blank; light pen marks to verso of rear cover. Light water marks to bottom edge of front cover verso. A very good and highly collectable copy of a very hard to find signed second print paperback.

Fine copy of the scarce and highly sought-after third printing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone with a very early signed Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone postcard loosely inserted. The postcard is accompanied by a rare 'OWL Post' letter by J.K. Rowling, dated 28/08/00. Included is a Letter of Authenticity (LoA) by J.K. Rowling signature expert Adam Houston of The Harry Potter Specialist, along with a collector's card detailing this rare signed item. Number line of 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3; copyright page credits Joanne Rowling with no space between Thomas Taylor and year 1997; drawing of a young wizard on the back and spine of both book and dust jacket. According to Errington [p.4] the third printing had a publication figure of only 500 hardback copies. It was the first edition to be issued in a dust jacket, which differs in colour tones from the dust jackets of all subsequent editions. The cover is in fine condition, with sharp spine ends and corners. The binding is tight, the endpapers are clean, and there are no marks, inscriptions, or stamps. The pages are clean and bright, with the usual browning to the edges. The first edition unclipped dust jacket has some discoloration on the top edge of the inside but is otherwise fine, with vibrant colors and no fading, shelf wear, or edgewear. The book is housed in a custom-made half-leather clamshell box.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, first edition, 19th print, paperback; inscribed to the dedication page with the words 'to Marianna from your kind sister and JK Rowling'. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, first edition, second print, hardback: inscribed to the same recipient to the title page with the words: 'to Marianna (again!) with best wishes JK Rowling'. The author has hand-drawn a star after her name, a rare doodle addition from the author. The second print hardback Chamber of Secrets is a very rare impression, existing - according to Rowling's bibliographer Philip Errington - in a run of just 200 copies, making it much scarcer than the first print. The Chamber of Secrets is in very good condition, with no bumps to the boards and still sharp corners. Pushed spine foot; the book has a slight lean. Very clean endpapers; internally very clean, with no marks. No dog-eared pages and no tears. No ownership name. Text block is clean, but toned as is usual. Slight strip of sunning to top edge of the front board. The jacket is not price-clipped and is the correct first state jacket, with the capitalised 'A' in 'Age' on the inner flap. The spine is sunned; strip of sunning to the top edge and fore-edge of front jacket panel and to the top edge of the inflaps. No tears to the jacket; slight toning to the edges of the jacket verso. The Philosopher's Stone has a slight lean; split at bottom of the spine, with part of the paper of the spine curling away, but still present. Sunned spine and a strip along rear panel of jacket alongside spine; creases to the front cover; top right-hand corner is lifting. Laminate is still present. Area of abrasion and of colour loss to the bottom edge of the rear cover. Internally clean with no ownership name; negligible 3mm nick to page 29, all other pages fine. One dog-eared page, other pages fine.

First edition, second print, paperback. Bloomsbury 1997. Inscribed on a bookplate to the title page by JK Rowling with the words 'To Betty, with best wishes J.K.Rowling (a.k.a. Marian's niece!). The signature is an early to mid-1998 signature style, with the periods still present after the 'J' and the 'K'. Rowling dispensed with the periods sometime in mid-1998, as she needed to sign more books and the periods slowed her signing speed. Marian - referred to by the author in the bookplate - is Jo's aunt Marian Fox. The book is in very good condition, with no ownership name or scribbles; toning to the page edges and text block, as is common with this title. No creases to the covers and no reading crease to the spine. Pages are toned, but in lovely condition, with no tears or dog-eared pages. Long but barely visible indent on lower cover. The spine is sunned; sunning also to a portion of the lower cover. Partially loosened security label adhered to the verso of the lower cover. Book originally purchased by myself from The Harry Potter Specialist.

This is a third printing UK copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It is a highly sought after copy as it is the first copy to be released with a dust jacket. With the first and second printings often out of reach for the average collector, this more affordable third printing is a great addition to anyones collection. The dust jacket for the third printing is unique in that it is slightly more purple in colour than the blue of the rear board of the book. Subsequent dust jackets on later printings are more of a blue colour matching the blue on the book. Often third printing books are sold with later printing dust jackets as the slight difference in colour is the only thing that can tell them apart. This is a true third printing dust jacket. The book itself is in fine condition, a near perfect copy without any colour fading. It is unread, the binding is tight, the boards are square with sharp corners and the pages are a bright white, clean and free from any toning, creases, ownership inscriptions or dog eared pages. There is also no colour fading at all to the dust jacket which is unclipped and in pristine condition. The book comes housed in a custom made red quarter leather clamshell box with bespoke gold lettering to the spine. This copy comes with a loose Bloomsbury bookplate signed by J.K. Rowling, not yet stuck down into the book, but fully authenticated as a genuine signature by Adam Houston, The Harry Potter Specialist. As well as the clamshell box and signed bookplate, this book also comes with a full authenticity package that includes a Letter of Authenticity and Collector Card.
