This is an authentic inscribed copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint pen to the dedication page. The original recipient, Caroline, was an employee at Waterstones, Reading, when J.K. Rowling visited to read to children from local primary schools and was responsible for looking after the authors who visited. This is one of a number of such events Rowling took part in before the phenomenon of Harry Potter really took off in 1999. Following the reading J.K. Rowling answered questions from the children and signed copies of her books. This is the book which she signed for Caroline who kept it for over 25 years before she sold it in May 2024. This copy is in extremely fine condition with no fading or creasing at all to the spine, and with an incredibly tight and square binding. It is clearly unread and in near perfect condition with no colour fading and no creases at all to the spine, a stunning example of a paperback book. Internally there are no inscriptions or writing of any kind with no dog eared pages, folds or creases. It has clearly been very well looked after and comes housed in a custom made quarter leather clamshell box with bespoke gold lettering to the spine. The signature and inscription come fully authenticated by Adam Houston 'theharrypotterspecialist' the world's leading expert in authenticating Jo's signature. It comes with a full authentication package including a letter of authenticity and collector card.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone; first edition, twelfth printing, paperback; inscribed by the author 'To Plymstock School, J.K. Rowling'. The signature is a very early and highly collectable example of the author's signature with the periods still present after the 'J' and the 'K'; as the author speeded up her signature, the periods were gone by mid to late 1998. Being a much-used school book, the book has lost its laminate and has creases to the covers, particularly the front cover; the spine is sunned, with small splits to the spine foot. Page 9 has a small closed edge tear and light green ink marks to the page. The remaining pages are toned, but in good condition. Inside the front cover of the book is a 'Children's Book Award Tester' sticker - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone won the award in 1998. Name in pencil to top of half-title page 'Plymstock'.

This is a 2004 variation of J.K. Rowling's signature signed in blue ballpoint pen to the half title page of a first UK edition, 33rd printing copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The book was originally offered as part of a charity auction to benefit the 'Sick Kids Friends Foundation' at the Signet Library, Edinburgh, on the 8th December 2004, and was kept by the winning bidder for over 20 years. It is accompanied by the original invitation card inviting the recipient to join the foundation at The Parish Church of St. Cuthbert, Edinburgh, on Wednesday 8th December 2004 from 18:30-20:30 for 'CAROLS FOR CHRISTMAS' followed by dinner at the Signet Library. This copy is in pristine condition with no flaws internally or externally to either the book itself or the dust jacket. It is perfect, the best copy we have ever handled, housed in a red quarter leather clamshell box with gold gilt lettering to the spine. The signature comes fully authenticated by Adam Houston 'The Harry Potter Specialist,' the world's leading expert in authenticating Jo's signature. It comes with a full authentication package including a letter of authenticity, collector card and provenance.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, 1st edition, 17th printing, with a very charming inscription on the half-title: "To J.J. (very cool name) from J.K. (not so cool) JK Rowling". Number line from 20 to 17 on the copyright page. Light damp-staining to the right margin of the dedication page. Publisher's pictorial wrappers, creases to covers, light shelf wear with slightly rubbed corners. Two stickers on the front cover (Smarties Book Prize Winner 1997 and Free bookmark inside). Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, 1st edition, 1st printing, with a follow-up inscription by the author on the dedication page: "To JJ (again!) JK Rowling". Number line from 10 to 1 on the copyright page. Previous ownership inscription on the inside front cover (JJ's Harry Potter). Ink marks on the fore-edge (not affecting the text). Publisher's pictorial wrappers, corners slightly rubbed, minor wear. Sticker on the front cover (Smarties Book Prize Winner 1998). Notes: In 1998, the dedicatee was attending Abbeyhill Primary School and was invited to Central Hall in Tollcross, Edinburgh, at the start of summer to attend a press event for the release of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which J.K. Rowling also attended. On arrival, the dedicatee was given a copy of the new book, and as he also had his copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (his class reading book) with him, J.K. Rowling signed both books at the end of the event. Included is a Letter of Authenticity (LoA) from Adam Houston of The Harry Potter Specialist, the world's sole expert on J.K. Rowling's signature, as well as an interesting collector's card. Kept in custom-made slipcases.

A first edition of the Deluxe edition, published in 1999. A fine book without inscriptions. With SIGNED photograph mounted to the front pastedown. The photograph - which replicates that of the photograph of Rowling to most Harry Potter first editions - comes with a personal letter from Fiddy Henderson, Rowling's personal assistant and has been in the previous owner's possession since 2004. A superb copy and made all the more attractive with the addition of the SIGNED portrait.

The first three books in paperback form, each one inscribed by JK Rowling in 2000 to the son of the author's neighbour when she was living in Abbotsford Park, Edinburgh. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a first edition, first print. This is a title in paperback that is hard to find signed or inscribed. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is a first edition, forty-third print. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a first edition, twenty-second print. Each book is in near fine condition, with just light creases to the covers and negligible reading creases to the spines of the books. Each book in internally clean and unmarked, with no ownership name. There are no tears to any of the pages. No dogeared pages in the Chamber of Secrets or the Prisoner of Azkaban; a few consecutive pages have light top corner creases in the Philosopher's Stone, but they are not dog-eared pages. The spines of each volume are considerably sunned and have lost a lot of colour, but the covers remain bright. A rare collection of inscribed paperbacks, with an association to JK Rowling through her neighbour from the early days of the Harry Potter years. The books are accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from The Harry Potter Specialist, the only authenticator who only specialises in JK Rowling's signature and the signature of no other author or person.
