Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
by ROWLING, J. K.
First edition, 24th impression, hardback issue, signed on the title page by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, together with the names of their characters. The actors apparently signed this copy for a charity auction, in London, held in the early 2000s. The film adaptation of the book was released in November 2001. The eight Harry Potter films catapulted the three child actors to international fame. The screenwriter Steve Kloves later referred to them simply as "the trio" and Rowling apparently used the abbreviation "HRH" in her writing. Cf. Errington A1(a); Grolier Children's 100, 100. Octavo. Original matt printed paper boards, spine and front cover lettered in white, yellow, dark green, and black. With dust jacket. Unclipped jacket: fine condition in like jacket.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
by ROWLING, J. K.
First edition, 15th impression, paperback issue, inscribed by the author on the half-title, "To Jennifer, I've got to use your surname in a book! J. K. Rowling". Early inscribed copies of the first Harry Potter book with interesting or intriguing content are increasingly rare in commerce. Both paperback and hardback issues of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone were published on 26 June 1997. The 15th impression is sufficiently early to feature the original wizard on the rear wrapper and, of bibliographical interest, the gap between "Taylor" and "1997" on the imprint page is missing, and the error of "1 wand" has been corrected on page 53. The gold "Smarties Book Prize" design on the front wrapper is printed and no longer a sticker. Errington A1(a); Grolier Children's 100, 100. Octavo. Original illustrated wrappers, spine and front wrapper lettered in white, yellow, dark green, and black. Child's ownership inscription to front wrapper verso. Slight lean to spine, extremities lightly rubbed, a little lifting of laminate, creases to rear wrapper, contents toned as usual. A very good copy.
