This 1957 Scribners 1st Edition/1st Printing (A 10-57) is in overall Very Good + condition. The hardback is firm and clean, without lean despite its 1268 pages. No tears, marks, with only one.3 cm bump on the upper front corner. There is some minor rubbing of the rich red-brown spinal cloth. The vertical page edges have some non-invasive surface spots. The dust jacket is in great shape with retained color. This is minimal rubbing and minor loss at the fold upper or lower edges at the spine ends or flap ends. Adapted in 1958 by the author, John Patrick and Arthur Sheekman for the Vincente Minnelli film, starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Oscar nominees Shirley MacLaine, Arthur Kennedy and Martha Hyer.
