First edition, first printing. Good in cloth boards with much of backstrip missing. Foxing. Lacks dustjacket.

Early printing in the same format and quality, in the quarter black cloth and decorated gold foil boards with title lettering by C.B. Falls. A collection of protest verse by the great Harlem poet and journalist. A fine, clean and unmarked copy. Scarce in any printing or condition.

First English edition (the American edition was first published in 1927). Octavo. 61pp. Paper-covered boards with publisher's printed label on front cover and spine. Small owner's name dated 1930 on front flyleaf, endpapers have faint red stain at fore-edge, text moderately foxed, fading on fore-edge of both boards, spine has started to split at one edge, not quite very good. The American edition is sub-titled "Seven Negro Sermons in Verse" and is illustrated by Aaron Douglas. This English edition is not illustrated. It is however, very scarce.

First Edition, First Printing. Black cloth spine with gold paper boards. Boards are rubbed through at the corners with mild scuffing to the front board. Clean, has a good binding, no marks or notations. 56 pp.
