Octavo. [10], 211 pp. Twenty-fifth printing. Signed and inscribed by L'Engle. In publisher's cloth with dust jacket. Binding is a bit soiled and with some wear to the extremities including fraying to both bottom corners; contents are generally clean; dust jacket with silverfishing to both front fold (rear flap is detached) and to a bit of the white lettering on the spine; nevertheless, the cover present well; price on the front flap has been clipped. The recipient of L'Engle's inscription has put her name in pencil on the front free endpaper. L'Engle's genre-crossing work - science fiction, horror, children's - has long captivated audiences. Indeed, it is hard to imagine another book adapted into a film (not, alas, a box-office hit) some fifty-five years after its publication. This lovely twenty-fifth-anniversary edition in red cloth and a slip-case was limited to 500 copies (of which this is 74) signed by L'Engle. Fine.

A beautiful, signed set of L'Engle's beloved Wrinkle in Time trilogy. All three books are signed, without inscription, on the title page, by Madeleine L'Engle. The latter two books are 1989 printings; the copy of A Wrinkle in Time is a 1990 printing. All three copies are in Fine/Fine condition with no apparent flaws--tight and sharp, with fresh, clean, crisp pages, no previous owner name or marks, and jackets are clean and crisp with no wear. Lovely gift. Includes slipcase in Fine condition.

Farrar Straus & Company / Ariel (NY) (1962) 1963 First Edition, Second Printing (stated). Near Fine (very light toning on the top edge, light toning to the end pages) in an almost Fine DJ, not price clipped. A beautiful, original jacket with a touch of toning to the title on the spine. No fading, the colors remain rich and dark. Almost no edge wear to mention. There is a small ghost mark where a price sticker once covered the original jacket price. The jacket has no printed mention of the Newberry Award, only the medal sticker. A signed and inscribed author signature is laid in. A really nice copy of this classic.

First editions of each volume in the authorâs iconic and genre-defining Wrinkle in Time quintet, including one of the most celebrated Newbery Award-winning novels of all time. Octavo, five volumes, original publisher's full and half cloth. A Wrinkle in Time is boldly signed by Madeleine L'Engle in a contemporary hand on the title page and accompanied by signed black and white photograph of Madeleine L'Engle. Near fine in the rare original dust jacket without the Newbery sticker to the front panel which is price-clipped and in very good condition, name to the half-title page. Jacket design by Ellen Raskin. An exceptional signed first edition. A Wind In The Door is inscribed by the author on the title page, "For another Meg - Be a Namer - Madeleine L'Engle." Near fine in a near fine price-clipped dust jacket. Jacket design by Richard Cuffari. A Swiftly Tilting Planet is inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "For Mother Maria Joseph - with love & ananda Madeleine." Near fine in a near fine dust jacket. Jacket design by Suzanne Haldane. Many Waters is inscribed by the author on the title page, "For Adrienne Stewart [Many Waters] cannot quench love - Madeleine L'Engle." Fine in a fine dust jacket. 'By the author of A Wrinkle in Time' sticker to the front panel. Small ownership name to the rear pastedown. Jacket illustration by Charles Mikolaycak. An Acceptable Time is inscribed by the author on the title page, "For Mia - even now - [An Acceptable Time] Madeleine L'Engle." Fine in a fine dust jacket. Jacket illustration by Charles Mikolaycak. An exceptional set with each volume uniquely signed and inscribed. âAt once a science fiction story, a philosophical meditation on the nature of Evil and Love and a coming-of-age novel, Wrinkle broke new ground in what was considered appropriate for young readers. Rejected by several publishers for being too complex, this title has amply proven LâEngleâs belief that âchildren are excited by new ideasâ and has been credited with bringing science fiction into the mainstream of childrenâs literature. This is LâEngleâs best workâ (Silvey, 401). A Wrinkle in Time is one of the most significant novels of our time. "A book that every person should read, a book that provides a road map for seeking knowledge and compassion even at the worst of times, a book to make the world a better place" (Cory Doctorow). It went on to win a Newbery Medal, Sequoyah Book Award, and Lewis Carroll Shelf Award, and was runner-up for the Hans Christian Andersen Award. It is the basis for the film directed by Ava DuVernay, starring Storm Reid, Reese Witherspoon, Zach Galifianakis, and Oprah Winfrey.
