Binding is a bit soiled and with some wear to the extremities including fraying to both bottom corners; contents are generally clean; dust jacket with silverfishing to both front fold (rear flap is detached) and to a bit of the white lettering on the spine; nevertheless, the cover present well; price on the front flap has been clipped. A nice signed copy of L'Engle's enduring classic and Newbery Award-winning book in the iconic jacket designed by Ellen Raskin. The recipient of L'Engle's inscription has put her name in pencil on the front free endpaper. Laid in is a single sheet of paper with ink notes related to the book on one side only; also a newspaper clipping about L'Engle's visit to Virginia Commonwealth University for a 2-day conference on children's literature. This copy is from a Richmond, VA collection.

Uncommon early edition, published by Doubleday Canada by permission of FSG. This is not the Canadian School Edition [blue cloth gilt titles] that notes on colophon "printed in Canada by Evergreen Press, Vancouver". The textblock of this edition is slightly thicker than the School edition, otherwise same pagination and layout, including: the leaf following the half-title lists 8 works by L'Engle, the most recent of which - The Moon By Night - was published in 1963.

All three books are signed, without inscription, on the title page, by Madeleine L'Engle. The latter two books are 1989 printings; the copy of A Wrinkle in Time is a 1990 printing. All three copies are in Fine/Fine condition with no apparent flaws--tight and sharp, with fresh, clean, crisp pages, no previous owner name or marks, and jackets are clean and crisp with no wear. Lovely gift. Includes slipcase in Fine condition.
