Original mustard colored cloth with black embossed title and flower design on cover and gilt title on spine, and decorated endpapers all the illustrated ads at the end. A solid, clean, bright copy with the following noted: 1/2" V chip at top corner of p. 175 not affecting text; last four leaves protruding at bottom corner but tight; 3-line gift inscription on flyleaf. Otherwise a tight, clean, unmarked copy of the original first edition with bright cover gilt. Octavo.

Brown cloth printed in gilt, red and black, 365 pages plus 18 pages of publisher's ads, text block 1 1/16th inch thick. Good to veyr good condition with some cover wear and light frays to corners and spine ends, good hinges, sound text block, clean pages, no names or other markings. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good. 12mo-over 6¾"-7¾" tall.

First Edition, 1886, with all issue points noted. Tightly bound in ornate brown cloth with gilded titles and red and black imagery. Minor damp stains and some small paint splatters to the binding, still Very Good. An early owner's short gift inscription (dated 1886) is on the front flyleaf and light penciling on the front paste down. Page 111 has a 2" closed tear and the last pages of ads are unopened with a 1/4" tear to the margin. Remains a nice copy.
