New York: Pyramid, 1959. 144 pp, 7" H. WWII military fiction. "That boat back there is a complete submarine - in miniature. About fifty feet long - including propeller, rudder and hydroplanes. That reduces your living space to something nearer thirty-five feet. You have no torpedo tubes, no armaments. You're not meant to be found or to fight a battle. From now on you're a sneaker. Inoffensive - until you release your side cargoes. Each one of those holds four tons of amatol explosive and a time clock. You drop those under that Jap cruiser's bottom and then run for your life. Peter Bentley had three weeks to learn to handle the midget submarine - three weeks to accomplish the secret and deadly mission that could be the turning point of the whole war." Interior - previous owner's name stamp on first page, moderate browning to pages, otherwise clean and tight with no other ownership marks. Exterior - light edge wear, light twist to the spine, minor browning at the rear cover edges, tiny stain on the bottom of the text block.. Not Signed. First American Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Very Good. Illus. by Ray Sternbergh, cover art..

This is the only copy this bookseller have seen of an orignal 1st printing of the 1st Edition. It is certainly showing its age, with a couple of tape marks & tears in the text. We think the binding may have been re-glued at some stage. Cover creased with edge wear. Spine creased.
