This is the second story of Silver Chief, the offspring of a husky and a wolf, found in the wild and befriended and tamed by Sergeant Jim Thorne of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. It is a terrific adventure story. Jack O'Brien (1898 - 1938), was a surveyor to the Byrd Antarctic expedition 1928-30, and often drove huskies on prospecting trips into Northern Canada. Other books in the series include Silver Chief Dog of the North, Return of Silver Chief, and Silver Chief's Revenge. This first edition features blue boards with silver lettering and illustrated endpapers. The binding is tight and square and the unclipped dustjacket is in very good condition and is protected by a mylar cover, This was never a library book.

1933, 1937, and 1943 respectively. First editions. O'Brien snuck some other titles in between, but these are the first three Silver Chief titles. Octavo blue pictorial cloth stamped in silver. Volumes are fine. Dust jackets are very good with some fraying at the spine tips to Dog and Rescue. Together three volumes - a nice set.
