Large book, gray cloth with embossed, raised illustration of Carver at top front, gilt lettering just good on spine, 342 lightly browned heavy pages, frontispiece from painting of Dr. Carver by Betsy Graves. Neat ink note, name and address on first front end paper, light wear to tips, microtear at spine top left edge, light wear at spine bottom edge. Very Good.

Book is in good condition with minimal visible edgewear. Some yellowing of the edges of pages and endpapers; painting of GW Carver by Betsy Graves on the frontispiece. Jacket is in fair condition with tearing at the corners and yellowing on the back; flaps appear to be clipped. Size: 8vo
342pp. Illustrated. This copy has an autograph note signed by Ralph W. Lloyd affixed to the front free endpaper. Lloyd was a prominent pastor in the PCUSA denomination and was largely responsible for that denomination's decision to ordain women for ministry when he served as moderator (1954-55). Small bookseller's ticket to the front free endpaper. Corners bumped. Some faint foxing to the pastedowns. The jacket is edgeworn with chips to the spine ends. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall
