1936, First Edition, 280 pp. Hardcover, blue cloth, 8vo., gilt title. Faint sunning and rubbing to spine; slight leant to spine as well. Light foxing to text-blocks; previous owner's erasable pencil note on fly leaf; clean and unmarked text. The final book of Sassoon's most famous trilogy.

Stated first edition. Jacket, in a mylar wrap, has some edgewear and is not price-clipped. Pages clean, but a gift inscription is on the FEP, dated June 23, 1943.

First edition. 12mo. 280pp. Blue cloth with spine stamped in gilt and publisher's postcard laid in. Near fine with some toning to the boards, couple small bumps and light wrinkle to the rear board in near fine lightly toned dust jacket with the uncommon publisher's wraparound band light faded at the spine. The story of George Sherston, the semi-autobiographical figure, also featured in Sassoon's *Memoirs of Fox-Hunting Man* and *Memoirs of an Infantry Officer*. [Keynes A40a].

FIRST PRINTINGS OF ALL THREE VOLUMES OF ONE OF THE GREAT WORKS OF WORLD WAR ONE LITERATURE. The first volume is by Faber & Gwyer with the second two bearing the imprint of Faber and Faber after the firm name changed. All three volumes in fine condition with dustjackets in near fine condition. The jackets show traces of shelf wear and the spine of Infantry Officer is slightly rubbed; jackets otherwsie clean and intact with original prices. A much nicer set than normally found, particularly the scarce first volume. Sassoon's trilogy of autobiographical novels is not only a masterpiece of Great War Literature but also considered to be one of the finest works of 20th century English literature.
