During the 1920s and 1930s, Zweig was a versatile Austrian writer of librettos, short fiction and novels, plays, and biographies. Many of his works have been filmed during his lifetime and after his death (Amok 4 versions, Marie Antoinette 1938, Mary Queen of Scots 2013, Grand Budapest Hotel 2014). This biography first appeared in German as Maria Stuart and then in this English translation. It was republished by Viking in 1937. Copies of this edition range from under $10 to $450. This book is well-made, well-preserved, and well-priced.
