An uncommon first edition work looking into the brilliant military history of the Royal Horse Guards. An uncommon first edition. Looking into the Royal Horse Guards, this volume is a detailed history of the British Army cavalry regiment from 1750 to 1872. Interestingly this history explores the actions of the Guards whilst with Wellington during the Peninsular War and Waterloo. By Joachim Hayward Stocqueler. In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, rubbed, resulting in loss of paper to the boards. Small crack to the tail of the front joint. Small tide mark to the head of the rear board. Light marks to the spine and boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with a few occasional spots. Good.
