This is a VG hardcover first English edition now in a Zaehnsdorf Binding, 5 rib spine, dual gold rules on the boards internal dentelles, marbled end papers, all edges gold. The original blue cloth boards and back strip are bound in at the rear. Both hinges had failed, so I installed library style canvass hinges, good for another 100 years. tipped in at the front is a facsimile of a long 4 page letter from H.B. Stowe to Mr. Salisbury. Who I take to be the printer Salisbury and Co. With the bound by Zaehnsdorf stamp and the stamp of a Boston bookseller. Photos on request.
