Second edition. p.p. vii 108. Contemporary crushed full green morocco, elaborate floral gilt borders, the upper cover with morocco onlays, tooled "A.E.G.". Cosway style binding with oval miniature scene on ivory under glass, depicting two cherubs working in a forge with French inscription (loosely translates as "strike while the iron is hot") Cover also depicts two winged putti with floral surrounds. Silk doublures, gauffered edges gilt. Spine richly gilt in 6 compartments, raised bands. Binding signed "E. Dreyfous". Edouard Dreyfous, French by birth, traded in Mayfair in London and New York. He specialised in antiques and objects d'art and was also a talented designer as indicated by the above rare binding. This design is the finest Art Nouveau binding of a Yeats work at the fin de siècle and was obviously a one off and is quite unique.
