This is Volume II only and is in very clean tight and tidy condition. In original attractive green cloth gilt hardback binding bearing the coat of arms, in gilt, on the front cover. There are one or two marks on the covers (see image) which are not very significant and the page edges are a little foxed. It is still in remarkable good condition for its age. Very Good. Green cloth with gilt titles to spine, triple blind border to boards and City Arms in gilt to upper boards. Cover cloth slightly rubbed to spine and corners with a little minor surface soiling and scuffing; lower corners bruised. Ownership inscription dated 1912 to each ffep. Endpapers lightly soiled; minor foxing & fingermarking to text-block edge. Welford was the foremost local historian of his generation, and his three volume history of the Town is one of its cornerstone histories.
