An exploration of Scotland's topography, penned by William Cobbett. A topographical work exploring all corners in Scotland. William Cobbett (1763-1835) was an English journalist, MP and pamphleteer. He is primarily remembered for being amongst an agrarian faction seeking to reform Parliament with promotion of domestic peace and reducing poverty in farmers. His best known work is 'Rural Rides', however, he also wrote grammatical works. Â In the original binding. In a quarter cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with bumping to the extremities, a few marks to the board and wear resulting in a little loss to the spine, and the label is rather worn. Inscription regarding the author to the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound; a tear along the front hinge, which remains firm. Pages are uncut and bright and clean. Good.
