Contains original 'Certificate of Authenticity' from Warner Books, and card describing leather care instructions. From a limited edition of 2500 copies, this is number 695, signed by President Nixon. This is the most desirable of the limited edition printings of The Real War, with the leather binding and stated limitation. This book contends that the USSR and the United States have been engaged in WWIII since the end of WWII. Actions like allowing the Nazi regime to crush Polish Resistance movements and other "peaceful geopolitical actions" have served to advance the communist agenda in all areas of the world.

Signed by Nixon in blue pen on half title page " Richard Nixon". "First printing May 1980" with "10 9 8 7 6 5" below on copyright page. 8vo. 341 pages. Red cloth stamped in black and silver on spine. Damp discoloration about 1/2" from bottom of cover with a few faint discoloration spots at extreme base of some pages otherwise clean, tight and very good. Very good dust jacket without stains-two short closed tears at top of front.

First edition, stated first printing. Inscribed and signed by Richard M. Nixon directly on his personalized bookplate laid-in to the half-title page: a presentation copy to Robert Six, Continental Airlines Founder. Book in fine condition; dust jacket with light wear and toning to margins, else fine.

Max Lerner (1902-1992) was a liberal syndicated columnist with the New York Post. His outspoken opinions and antiwar columns earned him a spot on "Nixon's Enemies List." By the 1980s, he become more conservative, expressing support for Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan.
