This 1998 Scholastic 1st Edition, 4th Printing (# line to 4 and First American Edition statement present) is a very early printing. It also does not have the number "1" on the spine of either the hardback or the dustjacket. It still retains the J.K. Rowling at the top of the spine (which was changed to just "Rowling" with the 5th printing) Condition: It is in VeryGood+/Fine condition. The hardback has is just a bit of color fading on the bottom left edge of the front and bottom spine end. There are bumps on two front corners. The dustjacket is not price clipped and has no real wear at all but for a 5 mm repaired tear on the lower front flap fold. An excellent copy at a fraction of the price of a first printing! *****Brenbooks specializes in 1st Edition books made into films. *****
