No writing other than the mentioned autograph, and no highlighting, stickers, stamps, or remainder marks. Fairly tight binding and little wear to the cover from shelving/use. A splendid signed copy in near fine condition that shows mild age toning in a well used price clipped dustjacket that is slightly faded with chips and archival repaired closed end tears. This copy is square, tight, clean and sturdy with no spine loosening--as with most larger books. Styron won the Pulitzer Prize for "The Confessions of Nat Turner" A very nice signed copy--although a BOMC issue. Made into a well known prize winning movie.

Octavo. In chipped, edgeworn dustjacket. Flap is clipped. In brown cloth covered boards with gold -- fading -- lettering on spine with gold facsimile signature stamped on front of board. This one has real signature and inscription on half title page that reads: 'To Lou and Bubb with best wishes, affectionate regards, Bill Styron, Greenwood, March 1980.' Squash orange end pages. Previous owner's name in ink front pastedown. Top of spine is pulled and starting. Yet binding remains intact and whole. Stated 'First Trade Edition' with this number line: '9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2'. For Random House titles of this Vintage this indicates a First edition/first printing. Not the 2nd printing it means for most imprints, including RH titles before this period and after this period.
