New York: Alfred a Knopf Inc, 1989. Later edition. Cloth & Boards. Fine/Fine in Archival Plastic Cover. A very nice edition (later) of one of the late Ray Bradbury's most popular books, signed and dated "Nov 9,1989" by him on the front free endpaper in black felt pen. Nicely bound in black cloth and orange boards with silver titling, in fine condition. The dustjacket is complete with the original price ($12.95) and is in fine condition, protected by an archival dustjacket but for minor rubbing and small tears at the edges, minor. A Note: some dealers have this book listed as a first edition published in 1972 because Knopf has 1972 on the copyright page. However, the true first edition of "The Halloween Tree" has a cover that shows a windy tree on a cream background and the price on the front flap is $3.95, not $12.95. And it has no ISBN because of its age. See our item #3606 (if available). We think 1989 is the publication date of this edition (the copyright page says 1972). The signature/date, and the copyright notations on the dustjacket indicate it has to be 1989 -- after 1988 (see Jacket illustration copyright 1988 on back flap) but before Nov 9, 1989 when it was signed (assuming Ray Bradbury got the correct date!).
