New York, NY: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1987. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good+/Very Good. 8vo - over 7þ - 9þ" tall. The chance discovery of a ship buried underground for millions of years transforms the inhabitants of a New England town into one evil, homicidal entity. First edition, second state, with a full 1 through 10 number line but without the "permissions to come" statement printed beneath as a true first printing would have. Spine is tight and crisp. Corners are square, and the boards are flat and true with minimal, if any, wear. Dust jacket is not price-clipped but does have some scuffing and edge wear including some small tears along the upper and lower spine extremes and a 1/2" tear along the lower edge of the front cover. There is also a light crease that runs the length of the spine as well as some browning to the flaps and to the inside of the jacket. The red lettering on the front cover, which can be quite worn on these books, shows only very light rubbing to a few of the letters. This collectible, very good+/very good, first edition/second printing copy is protected with an archival mylar dust jacket cover. Satisfaction guaranteed!
