Large octavo (6.25" x 9.25") has medium-blue paper with a blindstamped diamond pattern over half green cloth-covered boards, lettered in bright gilt to spine. Condition is VG: very clean, pages stark white & completely unmarked save for former owner's name in pen to ffep. Binding strong, hinges secure, very mild rightward lean. Noticeable rubbing to extremities & corner bumping (down to underlying board on lower front). The unclipped DJ (with the "Year 2" badge to head of spine appropriately not present) is VG, with slight rubbing to extremities & very tiny chips to both ends of spine & all corners; nicely protected in new clear mylar cover free (removed for photo accuracy). Spine has a minor slant, spine ends fatigued; textblock separation starting, bottom edge soiled, with a faint line across. Else no creases/chips/rips, internally no markings or other flaws. Copyright page has the full number line "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 9/9 0/0 1 2 3 4". Below the number line is "Printed in the U.S.A. 37", and below that is "First American edition, June 1999." "Sorceror" misspelling to verso of half-title page. Boards are blue with an embossed diamond pattern, and a green cloth spine. The dust jacket has $17.95 price on the upper corner of the front flap. The dust jacket back has a diagonal bar code field on the left side, and the small bar code within has the number "51795". The spine on both the book and dust jacket lack the YEAR 2 badge that was introduced later, and silver lettering is raised on the spine of the dust jacket. A gift quality example of this book, the second in the series. all points present. No year number on spine, first edition printing information on copyright page, diamond shape embossing on book boards, red endpapers and the book bar code is in the center of the back panel of the 17.95 jacket. A very nice square solid tight clean copy that if it has been read it was done very carefully. This copy has some light rubbing wear to the boards. A nice copy of a book that is getting harder to find everyday in any condition let alone as nice as this one.
