The "Year 2" badge IS NOT present on the spine or jacket and silver lettering is raised on the front and spine of the dust jacket. (The "Year 2" badge was added on later printings. If "Year 2" badge appears on the jacket or spine, it IS NOT a first printing.) First printing typo with "ancestor" instead of "decedent" on page 332. The "Also By" list on the ffep also includes the typo "Sorceror's" instead of "Sorcerer's" in "Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone" title, corrected in later editions and sequels. Blue boards with embossed diamond quilt pattern, green cloth with silver lettering on spine and red end papers. Straight, square copy, page block is bright without marks in fine, unread condition. However, light bumping at bottom of spine (caused by shelving). This copy appears to never been read, just purchased and put away on the book shelf. This copy is bright, square and without the usual dedications inscribed by previous owners. Jacket price of $17.95 is intact, without tears or other stains and the now iconic wrap-around jacket illustration by Mary GrandPre. A wonderful copy in almost pristine condition and rare to find without owner's inscriptions, especially rare for Potter first printings today..

A gift quality example of this book, the second in the series. all points present. No year number on spine, first edition printing information on copyright page, diamond shape embossing on book boards, red endpapers and the book bar code is in the center of the back panel of the 17.95 jacket. A very nice square solid tight clean copy that if it has been read it was done very carefully. This copy has some light rubbing wear to the boards. A nice copy of a book that is getting harder to find everyday in any condition let alone as nice as this one.
