Tall, eleven inch quarto of medium blue with gilt stamped spine. First English, American edition, in near fine condition with a very narrow, slight line of fading along the bottom edge. The dust jacket is also near fine with an intact price. Monet loved food, and his gardens which provided many ingredients for the recipes, and this can often be seen reflected in his paintings, and in his extensive journals. Though a private man, he enjoyed entertaining his many friends for luncheon at his home in Giverny. The author has spent years collecting some of his favorite recipes, which have been brought back to life by chef Joel Robuchon, and presented here with beautiful photos of his gardens, the food dishes, and his life and work. 192 pp. Food, Cooking, Monet, Food Journals, Entertaining, French food, Recipes
