These are the relevant features: (1) A second printing before publication text block was produced and used for both a trade printing and for the book club edition, so the text blocks are indistinguishable; (2) the binding of the trade edition had the pictorial images on the boards themselves while the boards of the bce are black quarter cloth to black boards; (3) the dust jacket of the trade edition is made of transparent acetate and has the price on the front flap, while the dust jacket of the bce is not transparent, has no price listed, and bears the images that are on the boards of the trade edition. This copy of the second printing before publication has the boards and dust jacket of the bce. Very Fine in an As New Dust Jacket. Appears Unread. The Text Block is clean, white, tight, straight and square with no markings of any kind. The Binding is black quarter cloth to black boards, colors uniform throughout, with bright gilt title, etc., to spine, unmarked white endpapers, and all corners square and sharp.
