This Book is a terrific account of events leading up to the Battle of Gettysburg, the commanders, the men, and the Battle itself. The Author, Michael Shaara, won the Pulitzer Prize for this work of historical fiction when the First Edition was released in 1974. This Book was required reading for military officers attending the Command and General Staff College in the 1990's. This is rated as the best piece of literature on the Battle of Gettysburg. Book has 374 pages and several maps.
