A twenty-fourth impression of the true first edition with number-string sequence 30 29 28 27 26 25 24 at the bottom of the printer's page. Only "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" is listed as 'also available', indicating a 1998 printing date. ***Near fine in pictorial colour illustrated boards. Boards clean and unmarked, with just a very small area of fading at the bottom of the spine where the dustwrapper has been worn. Head and tail of spine slightly creased. Corners sharp. Internally also near fine with no inscriptions, marks or annotations. No weakness or straining to the page block despite the cheap binding quality of these books. Pages clean and bright - just lightly tanned as usual. No reading lean - spine tight. The colours of the book are extremely bright and unfaded. ***In a near fine colour illustrated dustwrapper, which retains the original publisher's printed price of £10.99 on the front flap. Head and tail of spine of dustwrapper just very slightly creased. No chips or tears. The colours to the spine of the dustwrapper are just very slightly faded, mainly the purple to dark-blue, but far less than usual - there is usually a lot of fading to the red and the purple colours. ***223 pages. 206mm x 136mm. ***An early twenty-fourth impression of the true first edition of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", in its original dustwrapper, in beautiful collectable condition, albeit with fading to the spine of the dustwrapper. Canadian 1st Edition, 4th Printing. In Very Good, mylar-wrapped dust jacket (not price clipped). Dust jacket has the original wizard on the back (not older Dumbledore). Other contained issue points specific only to earlier editions (and fixed in later) are "1 wand" repeated twice on the supply list on page 53 and 'highchair' as all one word on page 8. Numberline runs 10 to 5 (The first Canadian printing was issued with a numberline starting at 2 hence this is the 4th printing with the numberline to 5).

A fine hardcover in a near fine dust jacket, no remainder marks, good straight tight bindings. A fifth printing. A very nice copy
