[1916], First Edition, in the publishers illustrated & printed cloth, corners bumped, edges brushed. Spine, faded slightly, edges bumped, black ink titles. Internally, complete with frontis, illustrated title within borders, [10, 169 pp, [1], [2], 14 fairy tales illustrated by 15 mounted, unnumbered, coloured illustrations, coloured endpapers, occasional spot only, a few ink marks to lower board. First edition. Binding a bit loose. Foxing on some pages. Beautiful illustrated (tipped in).

1st US trade edition, large 4to (8 1/2" x 11 1/2"), full black cloth with full size black paper stamped in gilt. Hughey 47e. 1927 gift inscription to front free endpaper. 16 mounted color plates and title page (same design as cover) by Dulac. Chapter heads by another hand (FRB). The jacket art repeats the cover design but now with brown ink on tan paper and quite appealing. Titles in black. Fine in near fine, unclipped jacket with minor wear and a couple small tears to the rear jacket panel.

170 pp. Complete with color frontispiece and 14 tipped-in color plates. Folio, publisher's gilt-decorated cloth. First edition; No. 18 of 350 copies signed by Edmund Dulac. Hughey 47. The cloth is lightly dust-soiled but tight and sound. Pencil gift inscription on front free endpaper; and a bump at the top of the spine affects the inner marginal top corner throughout. The plates and text clean and fine.
