Hardcover is in near-fine condition (bumped on the bottom of the spine, bottom corner of the back cover and the top corner of the front cover). Dust jacket is in very good condition (torn at the top edge of the back cover, soiled/stained on the front and back covers, edge wear and rubbed on the back cover). Brodart protected. 257 pages. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Near fine with top corners lightly bumped and small remainder mark at bottom edge of text block, in a near fine dust jacket with light soil to rear panel and "SIGNED COPY" sticker on front panel. Signed (signature only) by the author on tipped-in second endpaper.

Book is square, hinges tight, lower corners lightly bumped, no dings on edges, head of spine lightly creased, interior clean and unmarked; no page corners folded or damaged; no staining or discoloration. Jacket is clean; no tears, folds or fading; very slight crease at head of spine; raised letters of author's name and title on front panel evident (they have not been crushed); publisher's original price of "U.S.A. $28.00 / Canada $37.00" listed on the upper right corner of front flap. 1-1/2" circular black-on-gold "SIGNED / COPY" sticker on front panel next to the "M" of "Miller's". Condition of book and jacket consistent with being brand new and not read. No remainder mark, no previous owner markings or inscriptions, not price clipped, not a book club edition, not a former library book. Very legibly signed by the author in thin black felt pen near the middle of the publisher's bound-in page. And after a 7PM appearance at Saint Louis County Library for a lively and informative interview by Don Marsh about her latest novel, "Alternate Side", followed by questions by the audience, in my presence she legibly signed her name in black ball point pen on the title page of this book beneath her printed name.
