1916, presumed 1/1. No jacket. Boards have bright gilt titles to front but spine is darkened. Back free end paper has been removed exposing webbing hence only 'Acceptable' but binding still firm. The lightly tanned (heavier to inside covers) pages have been gently used so are in very good condition being clean & inscription/annotation free, although do have the odd light spot of foxing & one page has corner crease. Author dedicated book to his brother - Lieutenant Albert Service, Canadian Infantry who was killed in Action, France August 1916. The poems concern life in the trenches. Condition: Some spot stains front cover. See my pic. Spine faded. Minor rub on spine + corners. e/ps ghosted. Sporadic foxing throughout. Otherwise clean, little wear, tight binding.
