[Norman Frank Druce. Batsman. Cambridge cricketer] Captain at Marlborough College in 1893, N. F. Druce was the best all-round Cricketers of the year there. Going up to Trinity College, Cambridge, some high scoring in the early matches of last season secured for him a trial for the University, and, as subsequent events proved, a regular place in Eleven. For some reason or other he failed to do himself justice, and it was only at the last moment that he got his blue. Still he acquitted himself better than the majority of the Cambridge batsmen at Lord's and his first innings of 39 against Oxford was one of the best of a moderate exhibition. This season so far he has shown exceptionally good cricket, and should be very high up among the batsmen
