Hardbound in original binding w/ cloth spine over paper boards. Housed in custom green cloth clam-shell box. First Edition. (Nimrod a.k.a. Charles James Apperley). Boards and spine show wear. Front hinge is cracked but holding. Otherwise in good condition. Previous owner's bookplate affixed to front pastedown, and a previous owner has written in pen on the front free endpage - the interior is otherwise clean of any writing, underlining, etc. Binding sound. Slipcase shows light shelfwear, otherwise very good. RARE!

The author contributed to The Sporting Magazine, eventually his stories would be published in book form. His books became so popular, they continued to be republished through the 20th century.
