Twenty Five issues of Pierce Egan's Book of Sports bound into one volume. Egan provides an entertaining compendium of sports lore, with articles on horse racing, boxing, cricket, and fencing. Pierce Egan was a British journalist and sports writer, who also wrote about popular culture. His 1821 book, Life in London, was adapted into a stage play and became the first play to have a continuous run of 100 performances at the Adelphi Theatre.
