Hard back binding in publisher's original gilt illustrated terracotta cloth covers, gilt title and author lettering to the spine and to the upper panel, speckled page edges, sepia tone photographic end papers. 8vo. 6½'' x 5''. Contains [xvi] 176 printed pages of text with 63 coloured figures and other monochrome photographs and illustrations throughout. In Fine condition, spine not faded, no dust wrapper, superb. Original brown boards with black nd gilt titles and gilt spider motif to upper board. 224pp. 63 col. illus.; 130 b/w illus.; 88 b/w figs. Spine very slightly rubbed. Shelf and edge wear to dust jacket with small chips and tears to spine and corners and some longer tears to spine previously repaired with adhesive tape to reverse. Spine slightly sunned. Name and date in ink to front flap. End papers pictorial and text block edges speckled brown; pages very slightly tanned but contents clean and bright.
