Stated "First United States Edition 1980." The yellow pictorial boards are solid, with slight rubbing and soiling, and library markings. The interior is clean and tight, with jacket flaps pasted on the front paste-down, and the usual library markings. Pages unnumbered.

A very rare copy of a famous work by this Japanese author, this book is particularly touching because it shows the author's love for Italy and all things pertaining to Rome, exemplifying his conversion to Christianity.
