Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone ( AKA: Sorcerer's Stone ) --book 1 of the Series -by J K Rowling ( Volume One )
by PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION --- Rowling, J K ( Joanne )(aka Robert Galbraith / Kennilworthy Whisp / Newt Scamander ) ( uses the BRITISH format and spelling and grammar )
Vancouver, British Columbia: Vancouver, BC: Raincoast / Bloomsbury, 1997 ( actually circa 1999 ), 1st Canadian Edition, Later Printing ( 6th / Sixth ) , 1997. ------------( later printing of the First Raincoast Edition ) ----hardcover, about 5.25w x 8h inches, a visually Near Fine example but there is browning to the paper and foxing to the edges of the text block, small marks and small stains on the front blank endpaper, in a Fair to POOR dustjacket which looks quite nice in the mylar protector BUT ( AND IT'S a BIG BUT!!) there is considerable STAINING to the verso of the jacket (and in fact I would recommend you throwing the jacket away but that's your choice!! --- has a paper backing so the stain and "ick" is covered and is not in contact with the actual book) , a bit of age toning to paper, ---no writing in the book, ---number line shows this as the 6th printing but it is actually the 5th Canadian printing as the true Canadian First had a number line that started with a 2, this early edition contains two errors: Line 1, page 8 has "highchair" instead of "high chair"; and on page 53 in the list of "Other Equipment" needed for Hogwart's School, " 1 wand " is listed twice ---errors that were corrected in later printings, the upper portion of the spine and the rear panel show the young magician ( NOT Dumbledore ), copyright page states Joanne not "J.K.Rowling", --this early edition shows Bloomsbury on the title and copyright page BUT has Raincoast only on the lower spine tip of the book and the rear panel shows Raincoast and $19.95 beside the UK ISBN barcode, ---as well this has a Bloomsbury ISBN on the copyright page---, this early edition (6th printing) lists Chamber of Secrets only as other books by JKR while the 7th printings and later list more titles, --- -the 7th printing was also the first time RC used their own ISBN and not the Bloomsbury ISBN so this is the last CDN issue with the Bloomsbury ISBN, any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo, ///NOT SIGNED ---GUARANTEED to be AVAILABLE/// ---sizes are approximate (generally within 1/8 inch)---. Later Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good (see description)/Fair (see description). Illus. by Thomas Taylor Cover Art. 5.25w x 8h Inches. Flap Not Clipped.

Raincoast, 1997. 1st Edition 4th Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. About the book: Hardcover with jacket. 4th Canadian Printing. Numberline starts with a five. Supposedly Raincoast's first printing started with the number two in its numberline, not the traditional one like so many other publishers. Both book and jacket are in near fine condition. A well looked after copy. Additional photos available upon request.

He is bullied by them and his fat, spoilt cousin Dudley, and lives a very unremarkable life with only the odd hiccup (like his hair growing back overnight! ) to cause him much to think about. That is until an owl turns up with a letter addressed to Harry and all hell breaks loose! He is literally rescued by a world where nothing is as it seems and magic lessons are the order of the day. Read and find out how Harry discovers his true heritage at Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft, the reason behind his parents mysterious death, who is out to kill him, and how he uncovers the most amazing secret of all time, the fabled Philosopher's Stone! All this and muggles too. Now, what are they? This is Jo's first book and she has already written seven outlines for Harry's further adventures at Hogwarts.

He is bullied by them and his fat, spoilt cousin Dudley, and lives a very unremarkable life with only the odd hiccup (like his hair growing back overnight!) to cause him much to think about.
