PAGES FROM A WORKER'S LIFE
by Foster, William Z
316pp Dedicated by author to 'Comrade George Hardy in memory of many days together in the struggle'. Hardy was active in IWW, becoming Secretary in 1921, then he joined the international Communist movement working with transport workers and especially seafarers. He was a leader of the Minority Movement in Britain and then worked underground with the Chinese Communist Party in 1927. Foster was also a leader of the IWW, before creating the Syndicalist League of North America (other members were Tom Mooney, Earl Browder and James Cannon). He became a union organiser then joined the CPUSA, becoming its General Secretary from 1945 to 1957. Top edge is dulled; text is very clean. Dustwrapper is stained, and worn with some loss.
