Paperback. Pan. Great Pan. UK. 1956. Paperback. First edition. Heinrich Harrer, an Austrian mountaineer and Olympic ski champion wrote 'Seven Years in Tibet' following his stay in Lhasa. He met the young Dalai Lama who he later accompanied to India where he returned to Europe. Recognised as a 'great travel book' at the time. Covers are solid with interesting photographic cover art. There is gentle creasing to the tips and a little rub to top of spine and a little dustiness to back cover but overall good. Spine is solid and complete with a little creasing. Toward the middle of the book there are some fascinating black and white photographs. Contents are age toned and book has been opened hard at page 84/85 but there is no writing etc to contents. Fore-edge of text block also age-toned. Original price of 2/6 to front bottom tip of front cover. Overall, a solid copy of this fascinating travel book. Not exlib and packed and sent with care.
